Summer term at Durham’s school of witchcraft and wizardry

Fans of Harry Potter can now enjoy an evening class at Durham’s first-ever school of witchcraft and wizardry at Lumley Castle Hotel in Chester-Le-Street.

Children and families can dress up as witches and wizards and follow in the footsteps of Harry, Ron and Hermione at special evening events which run throughout the year.

Lumley Castle’s Grand Wizard will watch over children in the hotel’s mystic courtyard for an evening of magic, feasting and fun, while guests can enjoy the hotel’s magical banquet in the eerie Baron’s hall.

Phil Marshall, marketing assistant at Lumley Castle hotel, said: “Our school of witchcraft and wizardry is a fabulous family event and represents the varied and unusual events guests can enjoy at the hotel.”

The next School of Witchcraft and Wizardry events take place on July 31 and August 28 with other dates still TBC. Tickets are £24.50 per person and £17.50 for children aged 13 and under.
