Barnard Castle Tourist Information Centre is ideally located close to the town centre and next to Scar Top picnic and children’s play area. As well are being Teesdale’s main source of Tourist Information, it offers a Cyber Coffee Shop with high-speed Internet Access, including Openzone Wi-Fi hotspot and serves freshly ground fair-trade coffee and locally made cakes and biscuits.

A wealth of free Information Leaflets and saleable goods such as local crafts, souvenirs, books and maps are available, including picturesque circular walks, some of which guide you directly from the Centre.

A friendly team of staff are available to assist in providing information on local attractions, events and facilities. Visitors can pick up a comprehensive visitor guide listing tourist board inspected accommodation and use the centre’s booking service to make reservations for local and national accommodation up to a day in advance of their stay.

There is full access for wheelchair users and RADAR keys are also on sale.
