The Morritt Hotel

Type: Hotel
The natural beauty of the locality has inspired paintings of the Greta by Turner, Cotman and Gilroy and poetry from Sir Walter and William Wordsworth.
Four miles from 'The Morritt' is the old market town of Barnard Castle, the famous Bowes Museum and Raby Castle.
After a day working or sight-seeing the hotel's cosy lounges offer a place to relax. Morning coffee and cream teas are served daily with a good selection of newspapers and magazines available. In the cooler months log fires blaze providing a warm retreat for travellers. The Dickens Bar provides a range of refreshments, snacks and a comprehensive menu.
Weddings have been a speciality at The Morritt for many years. The rural setting, landscaped gardens and combination of ballroom and lounges make the Morritt a favourite meeting place for these special occasions. Our catering experience covers not only weddings, but parties, dances and celebrations of all kinds.
