There's a convenience store within 2 minutes of your front door, a wine merchant is reachable in 30 seconds, and a leisure club with gym and indoor swimming pool right over the road. The railway and bus stations are within easy walking distance.
• Of historic, literary or architectural interest - Moonlight Apartment overlooks New Elvet, which was originally the main street in Durham. Elvet derives from the Saxon Aelfet-Ee, which translates as Swan Island. The adjacent buildings date from the 17thC, and the apartment is within what was a trio of private mansions until the early 19thC, one of which belonged to the grandfather of Anthony Eden, past Prime Minister of Great Britain. After that time the mansions were converted to a coaching inn, with a wheelwright's shop and yard at the rear.
