Low Green Cottage is a recently modernised Victorian cottage sleeping 4, situated by the village green in the picturesque village of Gainford, County Durham. Scenic Teesdale, the English Lakes, Northumberland and North Yorkshire are all within a short drive of the cottage.
Gainford benefits from a number of village shops including a post office, butchers and grocers and 2 pubs. The area is a walker's paradise literally as soon as one steps out of the front door, with the River Tees within 100 yards.
The accommodation comprises 2 bedrooms upstairs (1 double and 1 twin), with en suite to main bedroom with WC, basin and power shower. The main bathroom is upstairs with bath, basin, WC and airing cupboard. The kitchen has an electric cooker, gas hobs, washing machine and dryer, fridge/freezer, microwave and breakfast table (seats 4). The living/dining room seats 6 and includes a sofa bed (sleeps 2).

Travelling north on the A1 take the exit after Scotch Corner on the B6275 to Piercebridge. Gainford is 3 miles along the A67 from Piercebridge travelling towards Barnard Castle.
Darlington Station is very well serviced by train from both England and Scotland. Bus services from Darlington travel through Gainford to Barnard Castle at 30 minute intervals throughout the day.
