Type: Self-Catering
The cottages enjoy wonderful views, set in the glorious open countryside of unspoilt Teesdale. Cosy and warm, they provide a restful retreat, only 2 miles from Barnard Castle. Sparklingly clean and furnished to a very high standard with full central heating and multi-fuel stoves. Power and fuel included in the rent. Linen and towels provided.
The Stone Byre accommodates 4 + cot. It comprises double and twin bedrooms (cot, high-chair and stair gates available), bathroom with basin and WC, sitting room, kitchen/dining room and downstairs cloakroom with WC.
Curlew Cottage (for 2) is all at ground level. It comprises 1 twin bedroom, shower room with basin/WC and open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room.
There are fire proof, sound insulated doors between the cottages which can be opened to create 1 large cottage. Private off-road parking, individual garden terraces. Secure storage for bicycles etc.
Perfectly placed for relaxing or exploring the local area. Some local attractions are Barnard Castle, Raby Castle, The Bowes Museum, Killhope Lead Mine, Hamsterley Forest, Darlington and Locomotion (Shildon) Railway Museum, The North Pennines, Durham Cathedral. Within easy driving distance of Hadrian's Wall, Beamish Museum and the Yorkshire Dales.

From Darlington Station, Arriva bus 76 provides an hourly daytime service to Barnard Castle. (Monday to Saturday). Number 88 Barnard Castle to Bishop Auckland passes Hauxwell Grange Cottages.
